1. About these terms
These terms explain how you may use the Chew Digital® website and the basis on which we provide our services. “We”, “us” and “our” refer to the business operating as Chew Digital®. “You” refers to the visitor or customer.
Our legal business name is Chew Digital®. Our postal address is Thursby House, 1 Thursby Road, Croft Business Park, Bromborough, Wirral, CH62 3PW.
Our written quotation or order confirmation sets out the services you are buying, the price, payment schedule, any minimum term and the work included. Any expressly agreed variation takes precedence over these general terms. Nothing in these terms removes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
2. Contact and support
For general enquiries, email hello@chew.digital or call 0151 272 1983. For website-use concerns, contact webmaster@chew.digital.
Send subscription cancellation and domain-transfer requests to domains@chew.digital. For Direct Debit queries, use dd@chew.digital.
3. Website use and account security
We aim to keep our website available and accurate, but access may be interrupted for maintenance, updates or events outside our reasonable control. Website information is general information; the scope and price of a particular order must be confirmed with us.
Keep account credentials confidential and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. Do not introduce malicious software, attempt to access systems without permission, disrupt the website or use it for unlawful activity. We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect the service, investigate misuse or comply with the law.
4. Quotations, prices and payment
We will confirm the work, charges, applicable taxes and payment arrangements before accepting an order. Additional features or work outside the agreed scope require a separate agreement on cost. A change to the prices advertised on our website does not, by itself, change an existing agreed order.
Pay invoices and recurring charges on the agreed dates. If a Direct Debit fails, a further collection may be attempted. Please contact us promptly to discuss payment problems or a disputed charge. Cancelling a Direct Debit does not itself cancel the service agreement.
5. Website design, approvals and changes
Website packages may use an established design framework or template. Your quotation or package description will explain the pages, features and design revisions included. The general allowance is one design-layout revision unless another allowance is agreed; package-specific commitments take precedence.
Please provide accurate content, suitable images and timely feedback, and make sure you have permission to use everything you supply. Before launch, review the preview carefully, including spelling, contact details, links and forms. Tell us about errors so they can be addressed. Approval does not remove your statutory rights or our responsibility to exercise reasonable care and skill.
Routine text and image updates are normally carried out within 15 working days. Complex changes may take longer and may require a separate quotation. Estimated launch dates depend on the scope, feedback and third-party services; any binding deadline must be agreed in writing.
We design for current mainstream browsers and devices. Older or unsupported systems may display differently. Additional device-specific work, advanced forms, payment integrations and other features will be agreed as part of the scope or quoted separately.
6. Managed website subscriptions
Managed website plans have a minimum term of 12 months. After this initial term, your plan continues on a rolling monthly basis. You may then cancel by giving one month’s notice by email to domains@chew.digital.
Your order confirmation will state when the minimum term begins, the monthly charge, included services and what happens at the end of the term. Moving to hosting-only service or transferring to another provider must be arranged with us before the current service ends.
The 12-month minimum term begins once signup is complete and the first Direct Debit payment has been made. This does not delay the start of any statutory cancellation period, which runs from when the contract is made.
If you are a consumer and cancel during the minimum term after any applicable statutory cancellation period, we will calculate any early-cancellation charge fairly by reference to our reasonable net losses directly caused by cancellation. We will take reasonable steps to reduce those losses, deduct costs saved and credit payments already received, without charging twice for the same loss. We will explain the calculation. The charge will not automatically equal all remaining monthly payments and will not exceed the unpaid charges for the rest of the minimum term.
If you purchase for business purposes, the consumer cooling-off provisions below do not apply. If you cancel a managed plan during its minimum term, the remaining agreed monthly payments are payable, subject to applicable law and any variation agreed with us.
Chew Digital® may waive or reduce an early-cancellation charge. No early-cancellation charge applies if Chew Digital® terminates all services during the minimum term or if you exercise a legal right to end the contract because of our breach. Charges properly due for services already supplied remain subject to your statutory rights.
7. Cancellation, deposits and ending a project
If you need to cancel or pause a project, contact us as soon as possible. Outside any applicable statutory cancellation period, we will provide an itemised calculation of properly chargeable work and reasonable unavoidable losses caused by cancellation, deduct costs saved, credit amounts already paid and refund any excess. Deposits are credited against the order and are not automatically forfeited. Managed-plan cancellation charges are calculated under the section above.
If you are an individual buying wholly or mainly for purposes outside your trade, business, craft or profession, you are a consumer. For service contracts made online, by telephone or away from our business premises, you normally have the right to cancel without giving a reason until the end of 14 days after the day the contract is made.
To cancel, send a clear statement to domains@chew.digital or write to Chew Digital®, Thursby House, 1 Thursby Road, Croft Business Park, Bromborough, Wirral, CH62 3PW. You may use the cancellation form provided with your contract, but do not have to. Sending your cancellation before the deadline is sufficient.
We will not start services during this cancellation period unless you expressly request it. If you then cancel, we may charge only a proportionate amount for services supplied up to cancellation, and only where the legal requirements for that payment have been met. If you have not requested an early start, we will wait until the cancellation period ends. Starting work does not itself remove your cancellation right. That right is lost on full performance only where you requested early performance and acknowledged in advance that full performance would end it.
For a statutory service cancellation, we will refund payments due without undue delay and within 14 days after being informed of your decision, using the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise, without a refund fee. Any lawful proportionate charge for requested services already supplied will be explained.
These service rules do not remove separate rights for goods or digital content. Personalised goods may be excluded from change-of-mind cancellation rights, but rights concerning faulty or misdescribed goods remain. Any separate digital-content exception requires the legally required express consent, acknowledgement and confirmation; we will not assume that ordinary website work is exempt. If required cancellation information was not supplied, any statutory extension to the cancellation period applies. Nothing here restricts your rights where services are not supplied with reasonable care and skill or where we otherwise breach the contract.
8. Domains, hosting, email and transfers
Domain names and third-party services are subject to their providers’ rules, availability and renewal requirements. Keep your contact and registration details up to date. Your agreement will identify what is included and who is responsible for renewal.
Request transfers in writing, supplying the details needed for the relevant domain type, such as the destination registrar or an IPS tag where applicable. We normally acknowledge transfer requests within 48 working hours and allow 5–7 working days for processing after the necessary information and any agreed payment have been received. Registry rules or third-party delays may affect timing.
Any transfer or cancellation charge must be disclosed and agreed. We will explain handover arrangements, including any action needed for website files, email and backups, before the existing service is ended.
9. Ownership, licences and supplied material
You retain rights in material you already own and supply to us. You give us permission to use that material as needed to deliver the agreed work. Fonts, stock images, software, themes and other third-party assets remain subject to their own licences.
We provide for website handover after the minimum subscription term and the required notice. The exact assets transferred, payment conditions and any continuing licences should be set out in your written agreement. Missing a notice deadline does not, by itself, transfer ownership of material you already owned.
The Chew Digital® wordmark and image mark are registered trade marks. Website material belongs to us or our licensors. Ask webmaster@chew.digital before reproducing or commercially reusing it, except where use is permitted by law. Preserve copyright and authorship notices.
10. Search visibility, forms and QR codes
Search-engine submission does not guarantee indexing, rankings, traffic or enquiries. Search engines determine their own results. Any ongoing optimisation work must be included in your agreement or quoted separately.
Digital forms and dynamic QR codes depend on the agreed service and relevant third-party systems. Your order should define account access, usage allowances, recurring charges, destination changes and what any “lifetime” offer covers. Please test approved forms and QR codes before distributing printed material.
Digital Forms pricing and allowances. Digital Forms plans start from £6.99 per month for one user, with dashboard access and a limited form allowance. This is a recurring monthly service, not a one-off purchase. The number of forms, submission and storage limits, included features, any setup charges, applicable taxes and cancellation terms will be confirmed in your quotation or order details before you subscribe. Additional users, higher allowances or extra features may cost more and must be agreed before being added.
Google reCAPTCHA availability. Where included in your agreed website or form package and supported by the relevant platform, Google reCAPTCHA may be used to help reduce automated spam and abusive submissions. It is not included on every form and does not guarantee that all unwanted submissions will be blocked. Availability and operation depend on the integration and Google’s service. We will confirm whether it is included in your package; our Privacy Policy explains the related privacy information.
11. Print and personalised products
Your order confirmation will specify the product, artwork, quantity, price and delivery arrangements. Check proofs carefully before approving production. Screen colours and mockups are illustrative; the agreed specification and any approved sample govern the order.
Proof approval for branded and custom-designed print. Before approving a proof, check all wording, spelling, names, contact details, artwork, layout, dimensions and other specifications shown. Tell Chew Digital® about any corrections before giving approval. Approval authorises production of that version. Where the finished product accurately matches the approved proof and agreed specification, we do not offer a refund, return or free reprint solely because of an error in customer-supplied information or a mistake clearly shown in the proof that you approved without requesting correction. Changes or replacement printing requested afterwards may incur additional charges, which we will quote before proceeding.
Personalised workwear. Garments embroidered or decorated with Direct to Film (DTF) transfers to your individual specification are personalised special orders. They cannot be returned or refunded simply because you change your mind or selected an unsuitable size where we supplied the size ordered and the sizing information was accurate. Check garment sizes, colours, quantities, design and decoration placement before approval.
Your rights if something is wrong. These restrictions do not apply to faulty goods, goods that are not as described or fit for an agreed purpose, production errors, or products that differ from the approved proof or agreed specification. Proof approval does not excuse a failure by Chew Digital® to exercise reasonable care and skill in design services. Nothing in these terms removes your statutory rights to an appropriate remedy, which may include repair, replacement, a price reduction or a refund.
Contact us promptly about damage, faults or an incorrect order, giving your order details and photographs where useful.
UK delivery and free-delivery offers. Free UK delivery applies only to eligible printed marketing products where the offer is expressly shown in the product information or your quotation. It does not automatically apply to custom-printed merchandise or other products. Any product, destination or delivery-service restrictions will be stated before you place your order. For online orders, applicable delivery charges and the total payable will be shown before you confirm payment; eligible free delivery will be identified at checkout. For orders placed directly with us, delivery arrangements and charges will be included in your quotation or order confirmation. We will not add an undisclosed delivery charge after you have accepted an order.
12. Privacy, third-party sites and responsibility
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. Supplying information does not create blanket consent for every use of it. Keep the details you provide accurate and do not send passwords or payment-card information through general enquiry forms.
Third-party websites and services have their own terms and privacy notices. Linking to them does not make us responsible for their content or availability. You may link to our homepage fairly, without implying an endorsement that does not exist; ask permission before framing or reproducing our content.
Nothing excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Any additional limits on business-to-business liability must be clearly agreed and lawful.
13. Complaints, changes and governing law
Please contact hello@chew.digital with your concern, the relevant order details and the outcome you are seeking. We will investigate and respond, and explain the next steps where a matter needs further consideration.
We may update these terms for future website use and new orders. Changes to an existing service agreement must follow its agreed variation process and applicable law; publishing a new page does not automatically rewrite an existing contract.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Business disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales unless otherwise agreed. Consumers retain any mandatory protections and rights to bring proceedings in the courts available to them under applicable law.
